About Ayureon

The interoperability layer for community pharmacy.

Ayureon, Inc. builds the infrastructure that gives community and long-term care pharmacists the same access to clinical data that hospital pharmacists, clinics, and health systems have had for years — so they can practice at the top of their license.

Mission

Infrastructure, not competency.

The clinical evidence on pharmacist-led outcomes is settled. Pharmacists improve patient outcomes and reduce healthcare costs when integrated into direct care. What has been missing is not the research or the regulatory framework — it is the infrastructure.

A community pharmacist today cannot pull a patient's recent labs from a hospital visit. Cannot retrieve a discharge medication list when the patient transitions back to the corner store. Cannot document a clinical intervention in a format payers and regulators recognize. Cannot receive real-time notification when a panel patient is admitted or discharged. The data exists. It just isn't where it needs to be.

Ayureon was built to close that gap — and then to do the layer of work that comes after, when raw data has to become something a clinician can act on at the point of care.

Positioning

Pure health IT.

We are clear about the category we operate in — and the categories we do not.

What we are
  • The interoperability layer for community and long-term care pharmacy
  • FHIR-native infrastructure for clinical data retrieval, normalization, and exchange
  • Bridge to CommonWell, Carequality, TEFCA, and Surescripts
  • Medication reconciliation infrastructure aligned with the THSA Charter and NCPDP standards
What we are not
  • Not an Electronic Health Record (EHR)
  • Not a provider organization — we are the infrastructure layer
  • Not a payer or claims platform
  • Not an analytics dashboard wrapping someone else's data
How we build

Principles, in plain English.

Audit-first.

Every record we return carries provenance: where it came from, when we got it, and how it was reconciled. No silent merges, no untraceable transformations.

FHIR-native.

Our internal data model is FHIR R4. C-CDA gets converted in. Custom shapes get normalized in. The bundle you receive is the bundle we work with.

Honest about gaps.

If we couldn't reach a source, we say so in the response. If a record looks contradictory, we surface the conflict instead of picking a winner silently.

Standards before opinions.

We follow CommonWell, Carequality, TEFCA, NCPDP, HL7, and THSA standards. Where we go beyond them, we document the difference and the reason.

Corporate

How Ayureon is structured.

Ayureon, Inc. is the interoperability infrastructure entity. It holds network memberships, compliance certifications, and contracting relationships, then provides services to the pharmacies, health systems, payers, and digital health platforms that run real workflows on the platform.

This structure exists for three reasons: liability isolation (compliance obligations attach to Ayureon, not directly to the participating entities), multi-entity flexibility (one network participation serves several covered entities), and HIPAA alignment (Ayureon operates as a Business Associate to the entities it serves).

Ayureon is headquartered in Austin, Texas, built alongside the standards bodies and academic institutions that shape how clinical data moves in this state — the Texas Health Services Authority, the Texas Pharmacy Association, and the UT Austin College of Pharmacy.
